본 연구는 2023년 1월 10일부터 2월 6일까지 I 대학교의 GB 센터에서 개최된 INU GB 스튜디오 세미나에 참여한 한 코호트(13명의 대학생)의 이야기를 연구하였다. INU GB 스튜디오 세미나는 I 대학의 Great Books 세미나를 기반으로 한 프로젝트 중심의 교육 활동이다. 본 연구는 Clandinin & Connelly의 내러티브 방법을 사용하였다. Zoom 온라인 및 오프라인 미팅, 최종 보고서, 인터뷰 데이터 및 사진 데이터를 분석 자료로 사용하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 초기 단계에서 한 코호트 그룹과 두 명의 튜터가 피터 싱어의 책 ‘동물해방’에 대해 함께 토론하였다. 토론 중에 학생들은 저자의 ‘동물 권리’와 ‘종류주의’에 대한 주장을 이해하려고 하며, 이를 자신들의 시각에서 다시 해석하고 현재 상황에 적응시켰다. 두 번째 단계에서 13명의 학생들은 각자의 특정 관심사에 따라 세 그룹으로 나뉘어 논의된 내용을 기반으로 각 팀은 개별 프로젝트를 실행하였다. 각 팀은 실험실에서 채식주의와 동물 권리에 관한 프로젝트를 다루었습니다. 참여한 학생들은 다른 전공 학생들과 토론하고 비판적 사고를 경험함으로써 시야를 넓히고 자신의 역량을 향상시킬 수 있었다고 밝혔다. 세 번째 단계에서 각 팀은 대회에 참여하여 발표를 진행하였다. 이 연구 결과는 Great Books와 프로젝트 중심 접근 방식을 연결하는 수렴 스튜디오 세미나 운영의 타당성을 입증하였으며, 학생들의 관심, 자율성 및 협력을 육성했습니다.

This study examined the experiences of a single cohort (13 university students) who participated in the INU GB Studio Seminar held by the GB Center of I University from January 10 to February 6, 2023. The INU GB Studio Seminar is a project-based educational activity based on the Great Books Seminar developed by the University of I. This study employed the narrative inquiry method (Clandinin & Connelly). Zoom online and offline meetings, final reports, interview data, and photo data were used for analysis. The results of this study were as follows: In the initial phase, one cohort group and two tutors discussed Peter Singer's book Animal Liberation. During the discussion, students attempted to understand the author's arguments on the interpretation of “animal rights” and “speciesism” and reinterpret them from their perspectives, adapting them to their current situation. In the second phase, the 13 students were divided into three groups according to their specific interests, and they executed their projects. Each team implemented individual projects based on the aforementioned content. Each team dealt with a project on vegetarianism and animal rights in the laboratory. The students involved stated that by debating with students from other majors and experiencing critical thinking, they could broaden their perspectives and enhance their capabilities. In the third phase, each team participated in a competition and gave presentations. The study's findings proved the feasibility of operating a convergence studio seminar that connects the Great Books and project-based approaches as well as fostering students' interest, autonomy, and cooperation.
