본 연구는 인천지역의 I 대학에서 Great Book(GB) 스튜디오 세미나 접근법을 개발하는 과정에서 참여한 4명의 GB 튜터경험을 탐색하였다. 접근법을 개발하는 과정은 문헌조사, 1차 모형 개발, 1차 파일럿 연구, 그리고 2차 모형 완성으로 진행되었다. 진행 과정 속에서 데이터를 수집하고 분석하는 실행연구 방법이 사용되었고, 수집된 데이터는 GB 튜터 회의자료 및 일상의 대화, 학생 인터뷰 및 성찰이었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 1단계에서는 GB 스튜디오 세미나 접근법은 다음과 같이 구성하였다. 선정된 GB 텍스트를 기반으로 토론하는 단계 -> 참가자의 흥미와 관심에 따른 탐구 이슈 결정 및 문제 해결하고, 결과물을 제작하는 참여단계 -> 최종 발표하는 공유단계로 일련의 단계로 전개되도록 구성하였다. GB 교수진은 개발된 접근법을 구현 과정에서 GB 텍스트의 중요성, GB 텍스트~다 전공 교수-튜터~다 전공 학습자: 연결접속의 힘과 사유, 생성된 교수-튜터의 역할, 또 다른 프로젝트의 시작의 가능성을 경험하였다. 이를 바탕으로 GB 스튜디오 세미나 접근법을 수정하였다. 선정된 GB 텍스트를 바탕으로 토론하는 단계 -> 참가자들이 탐구하고자 하는 이슈 및 문제해결 방안 모색하는 1차 참여단계 -> 중간 발표 및 피드백을 주고 받는 1차 공유단계 -> 이슈 및 문제해결 재방문 및 제작물 수정 보완하는 2차 참여단계 -> 최종 발표하는 2차 공유단계로 구성하였다. 가장 큰 특성은 순환적 본 연구 결과를 통해 만들어진 GB 스튜디오 세미나 모델은 I 대학교 세미나에서 널리 사용되는 토론 방법을 뛰어넘어 확장할 것이라 예상된다.

This study investigated faculty experiences in developing the great book (GB) studio seminar model at a university in the Incheon area. Employing action research methodology, data were collected through meetings, discussions with the GB teacher community, student interviews, and reflections. The findings are as follows: In the initial phase, the GB studio seminar model was formulated as follows: Discussion based on selected Great Books, Zooming in/out of questions related to participants' chosen issues, Exploring problem solutions, and Final Presentation & feedback. In the subsequent phase, the GB studio seminar model was executed by two GB faculty members. During implementation, GB faculty emphasized 1) the significance of GB text, 2) the interconnectedness of GB text, GB faculty, and student learners from diverse majors, 3) the evolving roles of GB faculty in the project, and 4) the potential for initiating additional projects through GB text. Ultimately, based on faculty reflections, the GB studio seminar model underwent revision. The revised process included: Discussion based on selected Great Books, Zooming in/out of questions related to participants' issues, Exploring problem solutions, 1st Presentation & feedback, Revision of the production, and Final presentation. The study outcomes are anticipated to deepen the understanding and insights of faculty, learners, and stakeholders interested in GB studio seminars. This model aims to surpass and expand upon conventional discussion methods commonly used in seminars at I University.
