본 연구는 코로나 19 위기의 상황에 놓인 유아들이 제한된 공간, 견고한 규칙과 틀 속에서도 자기만의 아이디어로 놀이를 변형하고 생성하는 유아의 창조성을 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 P유아교육기관의 K반 유아 14명을 참여관찰하였고, 유아가 위기의 상황을 넘어 스스로 어떻게 자신만의 놀이를 창조해 나가는지를 생성의 관점에서 분석하였다. 연구결과, 제한된 공간은 유아들에게 하나의 공간이자 배치물들의 장이었다. 공간과 배치물들, 물질과 얽혀 위기를 기회로 만들어가는 유아들의 모습을 엿볼 수 있었다. 즉, 나만의 공간 나만의 시간 속에서 자신만의 나름의 놀이를 생성했고 직접적인 적극적 상호작용은 제한되었지만, 감응적으로 영감을 주고 받으며 따로 또 같이 놀이를 변형·창조하였다. 또한 제한된 틀 속에서 유아는 놀이를 멈추는 것이 아니라 놀이를 변형하여 지속적인 새로운 놀이의 흐름을 창조하였다. 창조성은 유아에게 없는 능력으로 특별한 프로그램을 통해 육성할 수 있다고 여겨 유아 스스로 창조적 경험을 생성할 수 있는 기회를 박탈하는 것이 아니라, 창조성은 인간에게 근원적으로 존재하고 있으며, 스스로를 긍정하고 일상의 경험에서 또 하나의 새로운 경험의 생성, 즉 자신만의 창조적 경험이 생성될 수 있는 방향으로 열어주어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the creativity of young children who demonstrate the ability to transform and create play based on their own ideas, even in a limited space characterized by rigid rules and frameworks, such as amidst the COVID-19 crisis. To this end, 14 children from class K of P early childhood education institution were observed and analyzed to understand how they create their own play amidst a crisis. In the study, “limited space” constituted a space and field for placement of young children. It was observed that the young children transformed the crisis into an opportunity by intertwining with space, arrangements, and materials. In other words, they created their own play in their own space and time. Direct active interaction was limited, but they transformed and created play both separately and together, demonstrating the affectual exchange of inspiration. Additionally, within the limited frame, the children did not stop playing; rather, they transformed their play and created a new continuous play flow. Creativity is an ability that young children do not possess, and it is believed that it can be nurtured through special programs, thereby depriving children of the opportunity to independently shape creative experiences. However, creativity is a fundamental part of humans, and it is necessary to affirm oneself and create new experiences out of everyday ones, that is, to open a direction in which one's own creative experience can be created.
