패션산업에서의 지속가능성이 하나의 트렌드가 아닌 필수적인 요소로 자리매김하고 있음에 따라, 실제 의류 제품을 구성하고 있는 의류용 섬유소재들의 지속가능성이 요구되고 있다. 지속가능한 섬유는 원료의 수급과 생산부터 제품의 소비, 폐기에 이르는 전 과정에서 경제적 지속가능성, 환경친화적 지속가능성, 사회적 공정성을 모두 충족시켜야한다. 본 연구에서는 코로나 19 의 확산 이후 판매가 증가한 홈웨어, 원마일웨어, 애슬레저웨어에 사용되는 섬유소재들의 조성을 중심으로 분석하여 실제로 소비되고 있는 의류제품들의 섬유 부문에서의 지속가능성의 실현황을 알아보고자 하였다. 2020 년과 2021 년에 제안된 의류 제품들을 중심으로 데이터를 수집한 결과, 홈웨어 아이템에서는 재생섬유인 모달을, 원마일웨어에서는 천연섬유인 면을, 애슬레저웨어에서는 합성섬유인 일반 폴리에스터를 가장 많이 사용하고 있음을 확인하였다. 그러나 지속가능한 패션을 위한 새로운 의류용 섬유소재들이 활발하게 개발되고 있는 반면, 실제 판매되고 있는 의류 제품들의 대부분은 지속가능한 섬유의 적용이 많지 않은 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 위 세개의 소재들과 그 외 많이 활용되고 있는 섬유 소재들의 소재 적합성과 지속가능성을 함께 분석하고, 이를 대체할 수 있는 새로운 섬유소재들로 리오셀, 유기농 면, 리사이클 폴리에스터 및 나일론 등을 제시하였다 본 연구의 결과를 통해 실제 의류제품에서의 지속가능한 섬유소재들의 활용이 확대되는데 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

As sustainability has become an essential aspect in the fashion industry, the sustainability of fabrics that make up actual clothing products is required. Sustainable fabric must meet economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social fairness throughout the entire process, from raw material supply and production to product consumption and disposal. Therefore, this study attempted to determine the current sustainability condition in the textile sector by focusing on the composition of textile used in home wear, one-mile wear, and athleisure wear, which have witnessed an increase in sales since the spread of COVID-19. Data collected on the clothing products proposed in 2000 and 2021 confirmed that Modal®, cotton, and polyester are most frequently used in the three fashion items mentioned, respectively. In this study, the suitability and sustainability of textiles for each type of clothing were analyzed. It was found that all three fibers have environmental problems and are not sustainable. In other words, although new sustainable textiles and fabrics are actively being developed, they are not used in most of the clothing products that are sold. In this study, we analyzed the suitability and sustainability of the mentioned three fabrics and other widely used textiles such as linen, nylon, polyurethane, and new fiber materials to replace them, including Lyocell, organic cotton, and recycled polyester and nylon. We expect this study’s results to help expand the use of sustainable textile materials in actual clothing products.
